Your idea is good to but please be also open to other ideas. You don't know what will fail or pass. The prime objective is to attract media attention, in other words "give them something to talk about". What flower campaing did last year was exactly that...Can we achieve the same thing with Book or Calculators or Clock or Poster, we need to figure that out!
How about each one of us does whatever is suitable with common theme being similar letter/concern etc. If we choose clock/cal etc. shortly we will run out them at sites such as amazon, etc. Anyway only some of us will be able to do it...But flowers, letters, fliers are limitless and everyone can send...
So my suggestion is --draft a common themed letter and send the letter along with whatever anyone chooses to send along (with clock, cal, flier or simply letter. But please make sure the fliers are not offensive)...

There are people that used
1> Labor substitution
2> Worked in LC backlogged state like CA, NY, TX etc but filed in fast moving states like Maine, NH etc..
3> Applied in EB2 when their job requirements wasn't really EB2.
4> Made up five years of experience so as to apply for EB2.
5> Packaged NIIT diploma et al as masters..
Then there are others Who applied in EB2 because they had a masters or genuine experience AND their job demanded EB2. Also people, irrespective of their categories, toiled at BECs.
I would be a bit skeptical about folks that filed EB2 thru a body-shopper or a consulting company. It doesnt mean that EB3s are holier-than-thou and hasnt resorted to fraud.
My point is, the whole system is biased against people who follow the rules.
Unless you play the system ( using the points mentioned above), you have to wait and wait and wait..
At this point, its hard to find out who belonged to the former category and who belonged to the later. Do you think people would come forward and accept?

Show me the law that says they MUST use 140,000. Sadly, I think you're wrong.

Secondly, Change the following:

one of those who got labor approved fast from BEC...and slipped thru quickly....yes, I mean quickly even though it took 2.5 years
We suffered a lot as well..We applied first in 2001 and then my husband got laid off and had to start process all over again. We are on our 9th year H1 , so it was'nt all rosy for us ..

I understand your frustration. Since there is no spillover in the first quarter of new fiscal year, it was expected that PD would move back. How can you you expect 2006 PD for Oct when there is no spillover visa numbers.
Next year Jul-Sep 2009, PD should move to mid 2006 again.

Hello,
My wife's NJ license expired too and so was her EAD last month when we went for License renewal (Sept 2010). We had already applied for her EAD renewal which was in process a couple of days before we went.
It was renewed till Feb of 2011.
I would suggest you to take the following along with other stuff (to make up the 6-point ID):
1. Whatever I-94 that is attached in your PP.
2. Your expired EAD card.
3. Your EAD renewal receipt.
4. Just take along H-1B renewal receipt too (but it will not be of any help really).
We went to Wayne DMV in Passaic county (NJ).
Hope you get your license back soon.

Until 2003 end most the people have filed 485. It all started when the cases were moved to BEC. Most of the cases were from 2004 and some from 2003/2/1/0. But eventually BEC cleared and some applied before 2005 Jan. So the dates moving forward for EB-3 India in next few months would be little by little roughly as below.
OCT 2007 - USCIS will start from 2003 Jun
NOV 2007 Dec 2003
DEC 2007 Mar 2004
JAN 2008 Jun 2004
Once it reaches Mar 2005, it is going to stop for long time. I have no idea on the mess created by USCIS, but it is going to be tough for immigrants, especially from India.

I think there are many ways to look at it. Doing Free service , yes it is a form of Gandhigiri, but will that cause the lawmakers to recognize us and pass laws in favor o fus..I do not think so.
I think our situation is no different than people in South Africa in Gandhian times. How Gandhi fought for them is by writing and writing and pestering the Authorities to reduce unfair taxes on Indians in SA and to solve other problems they had like cannot ride in the same Trains/cars as Whites etc...., fighting for their rights in a Vocal but Non Voilent - non aggressive approach.
We, in this post , have equated Gandhigiri with - divide ur attention - Go Do MBA- be occupied with something else while u are retrogressed, furthur ur career/skills,,,etc I do not think that is what Gandhigiri is about i.e. doing something for the self, but instead do it for the community. In this case IV is our community and its leaders are doing the right thing for our cause and if we continue to support that by adding members, funds we will do a fair bit of gandhigiri towards our cause.

I agree, what did I do for IV for the past few months, nothing. Responded to one or two threads. Been very busy at work and was not able to contribute constructively to this organization. I am wondering how many of us are in this same boat, what are we all actually doing in helping the organization from either volunteering, getting more people to open their eyes and recognize a problem and organize and mobilize people. I have been trying for the past 4 years and its not easy and not always successful. To see the leadership team constantly juggling between work and working on different initiatives and putting in self less hours really requires appreciation. Now I think its worth asking ourselves, how much have we done or are willing to do to take us to where all of us want to be IMHO.
