I have a copy of Nolo Fiance and marriage Visas and in the section on I130 it says that my copies of G-325A must be filed in four copies printed on differently colored paper (white, green, pink and blue).

A) Is this really necessary?
B) If yes, I have actually bought paper in these colors. Does it have to a particular pink, blue, green etc?
C) The pages in the PDF are actually named
1) Ident.
2) Rec. Br
3) C.
4) Consulate

Which color matches which index? E.g. is the Ident one supposed to be white, blue, pink or green?

Hope someone knows about this.

My company is converting my L1B to a L1A.I wanted to know if i can apply for a green card independently after my L1A has bee approved or does my company needs to process that application.

All Employment Based green card has to be petitioned by the employer. So in your case, you would need to ask you employer to start the process. Only exception are people with "extrodinary ability" (the David Beckham's and Michael J Fox's) and people who fall under "National Interest Waiver" category (EB1 only - people who hold a Ph.D.).

You should be fine. If you I-140 is not approved by 2008, you can apply for a 1 year extension based on the fact you have an approved labor. Otherwise you would get a 3 year extension.

1. EAD six months, AP four months
2. SSN can be applied after getting EAD. Some times USCIS database is not updated and so it may take couple of weeks after you apply for getting SSN. Otherwise, it should come in 10 days.

Hello Folks,

My H1b is 2 and half years old. I transferred it once, i.e in 2007

My brother has got GC a year ago and started his own company. I am planning to transfer it to him.

I have these following questions.
1. What is the risk on transferring my H1 to a new/small company in this recession period, and the employee strength is just one (my brother).
2. Is it ok to transfer more than one time in short period(i.e in 2 years span)?
3. Also, is it acceptable to stay outside US for couple of months on H1 status with out payroll? Will that be a problem at POE when i return to US?
4) Right now i am out of the project (on bench), so will that be any risk of my H1 transfer getting denied ?

Please help!

The category (EB2/EB3) doesn't get transferred. Only the PD can be transferred. So, you will get the old PD for EB3.
