The only good news was a ten month jump for Mexico EB-3 cases.     Ooops... I posted my reply to the pic in the gallery! To reiterate here, I love this photo... the only distracting aspect is the deteriorating wall in the shadows on the left. I played with some creative cloning and removed it and quite liked the results. Other than that, the color, symetry and lighting all come together in a really compelling way. It's one of my personal favorites!

    President Barack Obama will gather congressional leaders at the White House next month to launch a policy discussion on immigration, according to an administration official, but legislative action isn't likely until next year at the earliest. he June 8 meeting is meant to show the White House is moving on the issue -- which is key for Hispanic advocacy groups that helped Mr. Obama get elected in November.

    I have already applied for H1B renewal and got approval. These are the following details from my new approval:
    Petition No: WAC-09-010-xxxxx
    valid from 2nd april 2009 to 1st april 2012

    I am visiting india around end of Nov 2008. Can I get my passport stamped while I am in india ?

    I am getting married in Nov 2008 and I want to bring her back with me in dec 2008. Under which petition I should file her H4?

    Hi,

    My I-485 was filed in June'2007 in Nebraska service centre since my company is based in Michigan. I live in PA.

    I am filing my EAD now but according to the latest instructions for EAD, the filing centre should be decided based on where you live. So for PA, the filing centre listed is Texas.

    My question is should I file in Texas based on where I live or in Nebraska where my I-485 case was filed. The USCIS case tracker also says that my case is at Nebraska.

    October is usually a month where we see improvements as new visa numbers become available for a new fiscal year. Most categories showed forward movement though few jumps of more than a few months. The exception is the Mexico Family 1st category which jumps a year and a half. EB-3 is available again, but not set at a date particularly close. Most people will not be happy with the dates.     As suggested by pappu/starsun, this supporting thread provides impacted members with additional information and tools to help the initiative.

    As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.

    The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

    Friends Hi :
    I have one question. Once we receive EAD and all 9 yards notices and once you switch from H1 to EAD system with same employer, are you still bound to work with same employer for full 40 hours.. can you cut your hours to 20 hours (nooo second job too). I can just work 20 hours a week . Is that permissible to be on EAD and still get GC processed?
    Pls. advise me

    My sister applied for her EAD renewal online and paid $340 for it. She filed her I 485 in Oct 2007. There are instructions on the I 765 form that there is no fee for those who filed there first EAD after July 2007. So would that fee be refunded? Has anyone experienced this kind of thing?

    Hello folks. I hope someone can help me out on this issue. I applied for my wife's EAD back in July 2007. The EAD was processed in two weeks and we received the card. However, my wife's middle initial was incorrect and we sent it back to USCIS with an explaination concerning the mistake. USCIS stated that it would take anywhere from 2 months to 6 months to process the correction. Last week I received a letter from USICS stating that I need to submit a completed I-90 form. A I-90 form is used to replace a green card. We just applied for our adjustment of status in 6/2007 and are not permanent residents at this point. Getting the EAD has become a nightmare for us. Do I try and write a letter back to USCIS stating that they are asking for the wrong form. I tried to call them but they said to respond to the letter sent. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
