I think you will have some benefit out of this bill, albeit, indirectly. This Bill will exempt a lot of folks with advanced degrees from US and non-US universities. All advanced degree holders from US univs. (STEM and non-STEM) will be exempt. So, a person with an MBA flus a 4 year bachelors from a US univ. will be exempt. Also, folks with non-US STEM advanced degrees who have been working in the US in a related field for 3 or more years will be exempt as well. The family members of such folks are exempt as well. Consequently a lot of folks currently waiting in the pipeline may no longer be counted against the quota, thus reducing the clog in the pipeline. ANother benefit out of this bill is that it increases the quota from 140K to 290K. There fore, you will definitely see some positive movement in priority dates for people in your and other similar situations (this is the indirect benefit I was referring to). It is very hard to say at this point how much the positive movement would me. It will all depend on how many people will be exempt from the quota.

Cheapest business class where you can SLEEP! 3500 USD roundtrip to India. Find a cheaper business class where you can actually sleep and let me know.
Best food! undoubtedly. New entertainment system with lots of Indian movie options.
I am not sure if old sayings apply to Air India.
Also we have jet airways , whose international service is in same class as singapore airlines, emirates and virgin atlantic.
So why are we wasting time with such moronic european airliners? who cant let us sleep one night in their country.

I accept what risker says.. I am also one of the people with PD 2003 and waiting for the backlog center to send my ad instructions and my friends & neighbours with PD 2005 have all filed I140 & I485 with current fees and expecting their EAD and AP soon. The country cap does make perfect sense for Family Immigration, you want a good mix of culture in the country.
BUT for Skill based immigration it makes no sense. It should be based on skill/qualification and NOT on country of birth. It is very similar to Indian caste based quota system, your piece of pie calculates right when you were born!
I do not agree with this country quota and hence $1k for LS from me, Pledged!
Of course, if successful it may/may not make much difference because of other retrogressed countries with long queue but cause is what makes the call.

If a group is thinking about LS for USCIS inefficiencies between 2002-2004 and unused visa recapture, I pledge another $1k for the LS. If I remember correctly, Mark Bartosik was planning for such LS but in middle he got his GC, if someone still thinks along the same line, I would be happy to join.

Guys who got NOID/Denied 485, quick question.
Looking back, do you think it was worth making the job move using AC21? Is it really worth the time, money, anxiety, sleepless nights that you go through during NOID-MTR?
For people getting layed off, they have no choice but to use AC21, but for rest of us, why not continue with the job you are currently in and let the GC take its turn rather than risking it?
PS: I am in US for past 5 yrs with May06 PD. I am just trying to get an opinion here, so don't flame on me. I was comtemplating on using AC21 but reading all the NOID stories, i am bit hesitent now.

They are just shit scared, they do not want ANYTHING to happen to their Green Card - they did not join IV because they are scared that something will happen to their GC petition.
Knowledge is power, ignorance is bliss. I used AC21 because I was with desi employer - though our relationships were good, as the client filed for chapter 11, my desi employer who has a poor accounting system figured out that there were a lot of invoices unpaid which he never bothered to follow up and lost a lot of money and rubbed everything on me. So it was a good time for me to get out of such mess as I already finished 180 days after filing 485 and as such I had been doing my own marketing, negotiating my own billing rate, and always billable so I utilized this opportunity to get into a more stable job which is decent paying.
I talked to various lawyers and was aware that AC21 has some risks involved but everything can be sorted out. I weighed options, though I could stay with the company, I moved on.
So it is your choice.

Hi Company A has file for H1B and it got stamped. I came to USA last week and did not join them as they were not able to provide me job and were asking me to delay my trip to USA. Now last week monday they said they will terminate my visa and report to USCIS. My new employer has yet not applied for H1B transfer. So i wanted to know how much time do i have left to do it. Suppose Company A filed for visa cancellation on 11th June, Monday. Please let me know if there would be any problem in filing for H1B transfer now as Company A has filed for cancellation before i file for H1B Transfer.
I would appreciate a detiled reply.

Hi ! My H1B with current employer is valid till March 2010. I got a new job offer and employer is willing to transfer my H1B. I have submitted all the documents.
The attorney of the new employer says, that I can start working with new company once USCIS receives my application. Is it safe? She says Fedex tracking no. is enough.
