We are quick in jumping at each others throat for no apparent real reason ! Being part of a forum is sharing space with others, with those whom you disagree, and those who disagree with you. Argue logically, but don't make it a personal fight.
Don't agree with someone, make your displeasure known. If things seem to be getting hotter, ignore the other person. Live and let live. We have bigger issues to worry here - GC mess - instead of who said what !

My earlier offered me ticket to my home country when they let me go. They specified in letter that they are offerring this according to the law. But I think its not neccessary to have employer to send termination letter to USCIS. Actually person can request company to stop sending this letter if employer is intend to. This way employer will not going to loose anything.

I have said what I have felt. I am not going to be politically correct, never have been. This is not a forum for pracitising genteel speeches, pampering and politically correct messages.
If you RSVP that "I will come" and the host prepares entire day for meeting, makes her daughter skip the extra carricular activities, ends up using better part of weekend for an event she is thinking will be attended by you, but you dont show up even and dont even bother to call they you are cancelling, then you ought to be ashamed of yourself. If you do something like that in your workplace, then you will get fired. If you signup for a volunteer training/conference on behalf of your company, get company to book your travel, make them spend time/money and then on day of travel, you dont even show up at the airport and attend conference/training that you volunteered to attend, then you will get fired. You wont get fired from Immigration Voice and there are no personal consequence to your bad, lousy manners therefore its afforable to do so, and so you can do it.
If you think EAD is the end of the road and you are free now with AC21 options BUT on the contrary you feel more and more need to visit forums here, on Khanna portal, on Murthy's forums/chats then probably you are wrong, you are not free. You are still bound by strings that restrain your mobility and freedom.
LURKERS : And finally, if the only reason (and this is the most common reason) for not volunteering or participating in activities or contributions is that you are afraid of USCIS or some agency retaliating against your pending 485, and the problem is cowardice. The most common reason why we have 3 times more "visitors" then logged in members is that "visitors" are afraid of the government in the most democratic and free country in the world. I need you to login so that I can get email and information about you so that I can seek your help. And I dont need your help for my own personal gain. I BEG to differ. I called USCIS today morning and the rep told me VERY CLEARLY that ANY application received on July 2 will be ACCEPTED as July 2 is the cutoff.
A few min later my spouse called and they told her, Everything would be rejected.
USCIS customer service center, currently cant differentiate their A** from a hole in the ground!!

Lawsuit will not help you. See AILA lawsuit for Visa Bulletin. USCIS did not even negotiate with AILA and chose to negotitate with IV. So you need to learn from it.
AILA now feels defeated because they could not show themselves as the protector of this community. If you see the lawsuit text by AILF, it clearly asks for money for lawyer fees, but does not asks for moeny for Medical exam and mental agony. So if you are going to trust your lawyers to help you, then good luck.
By the way, your Indian lawyer I dont know the name, sued DOL once and lost.
Secondly, how are you going to pay for the lawsuit? People here dont even want to pay $20 and you will need 20K or more for a lawsuit. Do you think you can raise that much?
Thirdly you are using IV site for your agenda. Instead of supporting IV you are creating your own selfish agenda and not listening to IV. I have seen lot of offensive messages by you guys. You guys celebrated when all of us got screwed

PDs will be at the front of the line. But, when those old labors are cleared, will they be able to apply for I485? DOL may say that by September 30 the backlog will be cleared. Is there any gurantee? Even all are cleared, they will not be able to apply for 485 now (has to apply by August 17). I think some SELFISH people with recent PDs are scared as people with older PDs may take the quota.
Regarding IV platform, it is an organization for the GC sufferers and by the GC sufferers. So this is of course the right place. If IV is busy with other issues, then people have to start their own fighting.
I am neither sure about the legal complications nor have any idea about the legal fees (or who will pay it) etc. Better consult attorneys about the viability of the case.
BTW, my labor is not in BEC and I have already contributed $500 to IV.

Is this an estimate for EB or for all green card applications? Because I absolutely do not believe this is the number. There is just no about H1Bs issued to produce this number.
It was the figure that the Kauffman Report found about a month ago when studying the potential for Reverse Brain Drain amongst other things. It as accurate a number that you will find.
Remember, this is many years of cumulative build up of temporary work visas transferring to permanent residency path

How does the House version of SKIL compare blow by blow with the senate provisions for EB in CIR. Does House version of SKIL include recapture of unused visas as well as a raise which was part of the CIR. Compete America report only talks about excluding spouse and depenedents in the House SKIL version for EB visa numbers

Clearly our issue of legal immigration does not create the type of backlash from conservative republicans that the issue of illegal immigration does. Hence when our circumstances necessitate that we have to try to board the CIR train to our goals I consider it unfortunate.
On the other hand when it comes to H1b immigration, every H1b increase has corresponded with some sort of provision(mainly recapture) of EB visas also. H1b increase has tremendous support and pressure from the powerful capitalist forces in this country. Just see how the Wall street Journal and Pres.Bush gives publicity to this issue. I doubt pure EB provisions can get that sort of visibility in spite of the tremendous work of organisations like IV.
In that sense the H1b cap being exhausted indirectly gives our issue more visibility and is a good development. Lets wait until the 20K US masters cap is also filled, then publicity will increase even more.
All in all it looks good that something will work for us by the end of this year. The pressure is building on congress to do something about EB immigration.

When is Sen Kennedy up for election?

This does not seem to be a 485 RFE but a H1 RFE. Put some sense into the post before posting here and confusing people. How can yours be a 485 RFE when employer X never sponsored your GC and when USCIS is asking paystubs from Employer X for H1 transfer and when your GC is still running with Employer 2. Senseless post.
Well...I got the mail from USCIS for I-485 RFE. Not for H1 as you thought.
Please note all H1Bs, F1s, visas....are part of 485 application.

when 485 pending pple r requesting AP to travel out and return back.
the question: 3 on page 3 "If the travel document will be delivered to an overseas office, where should the notice to pick up the document be sent:"
in part 7 of the application --> can it be left empty???
since we r expecting to AP approval to arrive by mail to our mailing address, can we leave this question 3 on page3/part 7 EMPTY?
pls let me know.

I think Both Sen.Obama and Sen.McCain are interested in legal Immigration. Mitt Romney was a big Advocate of legal Immigration. But of course, these are not the priority Items for both the candidates and also have to reassure the citizens that they will create new Jobs. Both of their plans will not affect Outsourcing
Sen. Obama Proposes to end the tax breaks for companies who outsource their work to other countries. This will not have any Significant effect on Outsourcing, as companies save much more by outsourcing , than tax breaks.
Sen. McCain already said that the lost jobs are lost, he will invest in re-training the workforce and find new areas of employment which cannot be outsourced.
I dont expect this Question to be heard in the forthcoming debates , as this Question was asked since the interview was conducted in Columbia Univ( University who supports EB Immigration)

Just a quick update I efiled on Sept 22nd 2009. Was assigned to LIN, Nebraska. Sent supporting documents the next day by first class mail. Received 2 copies of advance parole in the mail yesterday. Checked online this morning case was approved on October 2nd 2009. So basically from filing online to approval took 10 days total. I am amazed.

It seems like the group I am currently working in will shutdown in few months and more than half of the people have left the group already. I, therefore, need to find a job in next 4 months or so. I am a computer engineer by profession but trying to pursue a career in SAP functional field or DBA and looking for some advise from professionals in the field on training requirements/opportunities, career opportunities in different SAP modules, and how to basically get started.

My PD is Dec 2006. I got my EAD 15 days ago and the card is valid for 2 yrs. So the guy that approved my card doesn't believe Dec 2006 is a possibility this year!

I've had some experience with Air France. BTW I have never flown with them. My father died on an Air France plane many years ago. His body was unloaded in Paris, and stayed there for 14 days while the French were celebrating Bastille day.
Maybe it was the association with this loss and Air France that made me never look at them. But also they are pretty expensive, no?

I am not with rv reddy firm, but i heard good things about the extend he went to file 485s by July 2nd.. 2 of my colleauges goes through him. I was very impressed by the proactive emails he sent out during the july fiasco, updating his client on how cases will be handled.
